The primary purpose of this expedition was to assist with teaching high school science teachers how scientists search for life on other planets.  Within this context, I provided instruction and demonstrations as we collected a combination of ground-based temperature data and thermal images, and used a hot air balloon platform (with thermal imaging camera) in a predictive capacity to search for cave entrances.  This project was funded by NASA’s Spaceward Bound Program and the USGS.
